THE POGUES

I think we will be stuck on Irish music here until after St Paddy's. One of my favorite bands The Pogues is on tour this year again, that makes like 4 years now since the band and Shane'o got back together. I was lucky enough to see them back in 2006 with my daughter, little brother and my girlfriend at the Borgota in Atlantic City, man what a shit-town and a long ass drive, but the show was great because I have been playing their music since the 80's and never thought I would see them together again and my family got to see them with me after being hounded by their albums since birth. Then a day or 2 later me and my bud Mike'o drove out to Boston with no tickets and hardly any cash and saw them at the Orphean, we had shitty seats so I keep moving around till I wound up outside locked out for the encore, oh well that's what happens after a few pints and you are a smoker, still a great time, thanks Mike for driving up and back and listening to me bitch about security all the way till I passed out on the pike somewhere. Then last year Jen surprised me with 2 tickets and an overnight stay in Boston to see them at the Orphean again, Thanks Luv. That was a great show too, but Jen felt a little ah how should I say, crappy on the way outta Boston in the morning, sometimes a Pogues show will do that to ya. So I got to see them 3 times in the last few years not counting seeing Shane and the Popes at Irving Plaza in 2000 again with Mike'O at the helm. Well this year they will be at Roseland in NYC on march 13th & 14th, then in Boston at the new House of Blues the 20th & 21st, I don't have tickets to any of these shows, but ya never know how shit plays out.
