2009 ~ FIRST ANNUAL RALLY FOR ALI ~ 2009
The FIRST ANNUAL RALLY FOR ALI, targeted to be held sometime in September or October 2009, will begin in June to form its Committee with the venue, date, and time of its initial meeting to be announced soon. This will provide a much more comfortable time frame ~ 3 or 4 months ~ for Ali’s volunteers to pull the whole event together. A relentless disease with countless complications, little Ali valiantly battled Type 1 Insulin Dependant Diabetes for over 25 years. The Rally will be held to raise funds for stem cell research to find, at long last, a CURE for diabetes and many other deadly diseases. Ali and her family fully appreciate all the hard work that was put into the rally last year and eagerly look forward to this years happening in her honor.
As in the 2008 obituary request, and in accordance with Ali and the family’s further wishes, all donations in her memory will be mailed to Harvard Stem Cell Institute, Office of the Recording Secretary, 124 Mount Auburn Street, Cambridge, MA 02138, (check will be made payable to: "President and Fellows of Harvard College".)
Ali sends her huge hugs and unconditional love to all her family, her friends, and to the wonderfully dedicated and extremely hard working HSCI team. She’s watching over us all and is very excited about a cure for diabetes, and for all other deadly diseases, being found. Of the brilliant scientists working fervently every single day seeking this CURE, Ali says “They TOTALLY Rock!”
It’s requested that this message be forwarded to Ali’s massive amount of friends in order for them to include the 2009 rally information in their group mailings, add to their Causes on networking walls, post on their websites and in their clubs, etc., thereby getting the show on the road. All will be notified when a date’s been set for the first Committee meeting in June, its time & location, and from there will bloom the initial decisions of the when, where, and how of the Rally itself!
