ONLY IN TROY CAN A GUY GET MUGGED ON HIS PORCH...WTF

TROY — A city man was pistol-whipped and robbed by two men on his front steps Tuesday night.

The 19-year-old man had arrived back at his Jay Street residence from a convenience store around midnight, he told police. While standing on his front steps, he was struck in the back of the head by a dark-colored handgun, according to a police report.

The second man punched him in the ribs before both men went through his pockets and removed his cell phone and a pack of cigarettes, as well as his identification, Social Security card and medical papers, he told police.

The men then fled toward Fifth Avenue, the report said.

The victim, who suffered lacerations to his head and hands, described the man with the handgun as a black male, roughly 20-years-old and six-feet-three- inches tall. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark jeans. The other man was a black male of roughly the same age, standing about five feet six inches tall and wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and dark jeans, according to the victim’s description.
