Music News | The Pogues to tour Rum, Sodomy & the Lash

Folk-punk act the Pogues have announced they will tour the group’s seminal sophomore albumRum, Sodom& the Lash this winter.
Released in 1985 and produced by Elvis Costello Rum, Sodom& the Lash was the Pogues second studio album and was greeted with both critical and commercial success upon its release.
The LP peaked at number 13 in the UK album charts and spawned career defining tracks for the punk act including ‘Sally MacLennane’, a stunning cover of Ewan MacColl’s ‘Dirty Old Town’ and ‘A Pair of Brown Eyes’ written by the band’s primary songwriter and singer Shane McGowan.
The Pogues will play several dates across the UK performing the album, as well as other fan favourites and hit singles, including two dates at the 02 Academy Brixton, London on December 19th and 20th. It remains to be seen if the folk-punk outfit will perform the album live in Ireland.
