DAVE MATTHEWS ARRESTED AT DAVE MATTHEWS CONCERT

SARATOGA SPRINGS — State Park Police made 34 arrests and issued 58 appearance tickets over the weekend as more than 50,000 Dave Matthews Band fans visited the park for the concert.

On Saturday night, police arrested David M. Matthews and charged him with third-degree sexual abuse, a misdemeanor, State Parks spokesperson Dan Keefe said. Matthews, 20, of 39 Carlton Ave., Cohoes, was arrested after police were flagged down by park patrons near the Hall of Springs and a 20-year-old female made a complaint, Keefe said. The incident occurred near the Hall of Springs at about 9:30 p.m.

Over the course of both nights, 15 people were arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana and 36 underage people were issued appearance tickets for possession or consumption of alcohol while under 21 years of age.

As reported earlier, Jordan Hensleigh, 18, of Saratoga Springs, was arrested Saturday night and charged with second-degree assault, a felony. Hensleigh punched a man in the head, resulting in many injuries including the loss of hearing in his right ear, according to District Attorney James A. Murphy, III.

On Saturday Park Police arrested one person for fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and another for seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.

Police also made two driving while intoxicated arrests Saturday night. Fourteen people were arrested or issued tickets for disorderly conduct over both nights.
