NEW RESTAURANT IN COHOES

COHOES, NY -- There's a new Mickey D's in town.
No, not a McDonald's. A real Mickey D's that is anything but a fast-food place.
This one was just opened by Valerie Halpin, whose resume includes managerial roles at Kirker's Steak House in Latham and the former Olde Daley Inn restaurant in Troy. She named it after her son, Michael.
The chef is Steve Muzio, also formerly of Kirker's.
This is definitely a bargain-priced spot, offering breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Nothing on the lunch menu -- which includes specialty salads and such items as deli, club, Monte Cristo and Reuben sandwiches -- is priced higher than $5.99. And on the dinner menu, entrees are priced at $15 and under, including a Wednesday Polish special.
NOTES ON NAPKINS: Mickey D's is located at 50 Oneida Street, in the former Big G's Restaurant & Nightclub. It is open every day except Sunday from 8 a.m. Phone: (518) 590-0168.
